Privacy Policy
Last updated: 20 July 2026
ProParents (“the App”) is operated by GyanLearn Edusolutions Private Limited (“we”, “us”, “our”), a company incorporated in India (CIN: U80900DL2022PTC395933), with its registered office at House No. 117, Block C, Double Storey, Ramesh Nagar, New Delhi, Delhi 110015, India.
This policy explains what personal information the ProParents mobile application and website (proparents.in) collect, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the rights you have. Please read it together with our Terms of Service.
In one line: we collect what we need to personalise your child’s plan, we never sell your data, we never show ads, and we never use your child’s information to profile or advertise to them.
1. Who can use ProParents
ProParents is for parents and legal guardians aged 18 or over. The account holder is always an adult. Children do not create accounts, log in, or use the App directly.
When you add information about your child, you do so as their parent or legal guardian, and you confirm you are entitled to provide that information and to consent on their behalf.
2. Information we collect
2.1 Information you give us
About you (the parent):
- Mobile number (used to sign in via a one-time password)
- Your name
- Email address, if you provide one
- Your parenting goals, challenges and preferences
About your child:
- Child’s name (or nickname — a nickname is fine)
- Date of birth (used to calculate age and select age-appropriate milestones)
- Gestational age at birth, if provided (used to adjust milestone expectations for prematurity)
- Your answers to developmental milestone questions
- Progress you record: activities completed, tasks, routines, streaks
- “Moments” — short notes you choose to write about your child
Questions you ask our AI assistant, and the conversation history within the App.
2.2 Information collected automatically
- Device push token — an identifier used only to deliver notifications you have enabled
- App version, device type and operating system — to diagnose problems
- Error and crash information — to fix bugs
- Usage and analytics information — which screens you open and which features you use, along with a randomly generated app identifier, your session, app version and device platform
- De-identified profile and progress information — used only to improve the App. This covers your child’s age in months and age group, their birth month and year, their gender, your relationship to your child (mother, father or guardian), the goals you selected during setup, and how your child’s milestone check-in went — that is, which milestone questions were shown and which of the fixed options you tapped (for example “Yes, consistently” or “Not yet”)
We do not collect your contacts, photos, precise location, call logs, or SMS messages.
What analytics never receives: your child’s name, your name, your mobile number, your email, your child’s exact date of birth, your “moments” notes, or anything you type to the AI assistant or into any free-text box.
How developmental answers are handled. To know whether the App is actually helping — and which milestones parents most often need support with — we record the answer you selected from the fixed options, together with the standard CDC question it belongs to. These are attached to a random identifier, never to you or your child by name. Nobody browsing our analytics tools can see whose child an answer belongs to. This information is used solely to improve the App and its content. It is never used for advertising, never sold, never shared with data brokers, and never used to build a profile of your child for any purpose other than showing you more relevant guidance inside the App.
Birth information is limited to month and year only (for example “March 2024”), which lets us understand age groups without pinpointing a child.
2.3 If you only use our website
If you visit proparents.in without installing the App, the only personal information we collect is:
- Your email address, if you choose to join the waitlist
- Sign-up context — which part of the site you signed up from, and the date and time
- Limited technical data (such as your IP address) processed by Cloudflare to deliver and secure the site
We do not ask for your name, your child’s name, or any information about your child through the website. We use waitlist emails to tell you when ProParents launches and to share occasional product updates, and we keep them until you ask us to remove them.
2.4 Sensitive information
Milestone responses relate to your child’s health and development. We treat this as sensitive information and apply the protections described in this policy. Milestone tracking is developmental monitoring, not a screening test or a medical diagnosis — see Section 9.
3. Why we use your information
We use your information only for these purposes:
| Purpose | What it involves |
|---|---|
| Create and secure your account | Verify your mobile number by OTP, keep you signed in |
| Personalise your child’s plan | Use age, milestone answers and goals to choose age-appropriate activities and daily steps |
| Track progress | Show streaks, progress and milestone history over time |
| Answer your questions | Provide AI-assisted parenting answers using your child’s context |
| Send reminders you asked for | Daily nudges, routine reminders, check-in reminders, appointment updates |
| Support you | Respond to your questions, complaints and grievances |
| Improve and secure the App | Fix crashes, prevent abuse, understand which features help |
| Meet legal obligations | Where the law requires us to retain or disclose information |
We rely on your consent for processing your and your child’s information, and on our legitimate interest in keeping the App secure and functional. You may withdraw consent at any time (Section 8).
4. What we do NOT do
- We do not sell your personal information, or your child’s, to anyone.
- We do not show advertising in the App.
- We do not use your child’s information for advertising, ad targeting, or behavioural profiling.
- We do not track your child across other apps or websites.
- We do not knowingly allow children to create accounts or use the App directly.
5. Who we share information with
We share information only with service providers who help us run the App, and only to the extent needed. They are bound to protect it and may not use it for their own purposes.
| Provider | What they receive | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Supabase | Your account and child data (database + authentication hosting) | To store your account securely and sync across your devices |
| Anthropic (Claude AI) | The question you ask, plus relevant child context (e.g. age, milestone status, first name) | To generate the AI assistant’s answer |
| Expo / Google Firebase Cloud Messaging | Your device push token and the notification content | To deliver notifications you enabled |
| Our SMS provider | Your mobile number and the one-time password | To send your login OTP |
| PostHog | Usage events and de-identified profile attributes: random app identifier, app/device info, child age, age group, birth month and year, gender, your relationship to your child, setup goals, and milestone check-in selections (the fixed option chosen and the standard question it belongs to) | Product analytics — to understand which features help and where parents get stuck |
| Mixpanel | Same as above | Product analytics |
| Google Analytics (Firebase) | Same as above, plus install source | Analytics and understanding how people find the App |
| Cloudflare | Technical data such as IP address when you visit proparents.in | To deliver and secure the website |
About the AI assistant: when you ask a question, we send that question together with limited context about your child so the answer is relevant. We do not send your mobile number or email. Our AI provider processes this to generate a response; it is not used to build advertising profiles.
About analytics: we use PostHog, Mixpanel and Google Analytics for one purpose — improving the App. They receive usage events, de-identified profile attributes, and the fixed-option answers from your child’s milestone check-in, all attached to a random identifier rather than to any name. They never receive your child’s name, your name, your contact details, your child’s exact date of birth, or anything you type in your own words — not your “moments” notes, and not your questions to the AI assistant.
Analytics is never used to advertise to you or your child, to build advertising profiles, to sell or share data with brokers, or to track you across other apps and websites. We use it to answer questions like “where do parents get stuck during setup?” and “which guidance actually helps?” — nothing more.
We may also disclose information if required by law, court order, or a lawful request from a public authority, or to protect the rights, safety and security of our users or the public.
6. Where your information is stored
Your information is stored on servers operated by our hosting providers, which may be located outside India. Wherever it is processed, we require appropriate safeguards and contractual protections consistent with Indian law.
7. How long we keep it
- Account and child information: while your account is active.
- After you delete your account: we delete your personal information, normally within 30 days, except where we must keep records to meet a legal obligation.
- Error logs: typically up to 90 days.
- Analytics records: the usage and de-identified profile information described in section 2.2 is held under a random identifier, and contains no name or contact details. We keep it to understand how the App is used over time. When you delete your account we also delete the analytics records linked to your identifier — see below.
8. Your rights and choices
You can:
- Access the personal information we hold about you and your child
- Correct anything inaccurate — most information is editable in the App
- Delete your account and data — directly in the App under Account → Delete account, or by emailing us
- Withdraw consent at any time by deleting your account
- Turn off notifications at any time, in the App or in your device settings
- Complain to us, or to the Data Protection Board of India
To exercise any right, email jatin@proparents.in. We will respond within the timelines required by law.
Deleting your account permanently removes your child’s information from our systems. This cannot be undone.
What that covers, precisely. Deleting your account immediately removes your account and your child’s information from our database, and stops the App sending anything further. Analytics records held by our providers are keyed to a random identifier rather than your name; we erase those on request and, in any case, within 30 days of your deletion. If you would like that done straight away, email jatin@proparents.in and we will confirm once it is complete.
9. Children’s information and the DPDP Act
We take particular care with information about children:
- The account holder must be an adult (18+) who is the child’s parent or legal guardian.
- We collect the minimum information needed to personalise your child’s plan.
- We never use a child’s information for advertising, tracking, or behavioural profiling — this is prohibited under India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and the DPDP Rules, 2025, and we do not do it.
- Milestone tracking in the App is developmental monitoring, not screening or diagnosis. It uses the CDC’s “Learn the Signs. Act Early.” milestone checklists, which are designed to help parents observe development over time. It is not a validated developmental screening instrument, and it does not replace assessment by a qualified paediatrician or specialist. Always discuss any concern about your child’s development with your doctor.
If you believe a child has provided us information directly, or that a person who is not a parent/guardian has entered a child’s information, contact us and we will delete it.
10. How we protect your information
- All data is transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS).
- Our database enforces row-level security, so your records are accessible only to your authenticated account.
- Access to production systems is limited to authorised personnel.
- Login is by one-time password to your mobile number; we never store a password.
No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information and will notify you and the relevant authority of a breach where the law requires.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the App develops. Material changes will be notified in the App or by email, and the “Last updated” date above will change. Continuing to use ProParents after a change means you accept the updated policy.
